Computer Guided Occlusion is a comprehensive modular course on
computerized occlusal analysis.
Friday - The T-Scan
Part I - Software Review
Part II - Lecture
Part III - Splint Adjustment
This program starts with a 2 hour Hands-On
Review of the software, followed by a lecture, where
theory/principles/clinical cases are presented. The day ends with
adjusting on an Essix splint brought by each participant.
Saturday - Clinical
Demonstration
The Clinical demonstration is on a live patient, using the T-Scan and EMG to diagnose the
case. gude treatment and determine completion, using the instruments to
visualize goal posts for success.
Note, space is limited for the Saturday Clinical Sessions,
so if you are interested,we urge you to
register as soon as possible.
Contact us for further information, or to
register for a course.
This session will guide you through each of the features in the T-Scan®
program, including function and clinical relevance. At the end
of this session, each attendee will be able to utilize the program and
better understand the data. We urge all
attendees to bring your laptop with the program installed, and a T-Scan
handle. If you do not have the program, you should still bring a
laptop
computer. A handle and trial version of the software will be
provided. This course is designed for a new user of the
technology, or clinicians
considering implementing the system into their practice. This session
can also be used as refresher training or an introduction to
record-taking by your Assistant or Hygienist.
The lecture is a half-day comprehensive program. The material
includes a review of the science, research data, and integration of
computerized occlusal technology into modern occlusal thought, for both
NM and CR practitioners. T-Scan data will be correlated
with articulating paper marks and EMGs. Clinical cases will be reviewed
to demonstrate time and relative force based analysis of tooth to tooth
dynamics. Many clinical cases will be presented, demonstrating clinical
applications for T-Scan use in creating balanced occlusion
in cosmetic, pain management, prosthetic and implant cases.
T-Scan users will learn how to integrate computerized
occlusal analysis into diagnosis and use during treatment.
This course contains material useful to both new and experienced users.
Each participant will be mailed Essix splint material. We will
use these splints in a 90 minute afternoon exercise, marking them
with articulating paper and then using the T-Scan to guide
grinding on the splint in an exercise to achieve idealied occlusion.
Friday
4 hours lecture CE credit
3
hours participation CE credit
Tuition - $475
Staff - $135
This session is the diagnosis and treatment of a patient, usually
one of
the doctors in the group. The concepts learned in the lecture will be
demonstrated. The T-Scan and EMG will be used in diagnosis
of the case. T-Scan data will be correlated with
articulating paper marks and used to guide creation of a balanced
occlusion. The EMG is used to demonstrate the physiologic
success. The class is small and the format is loose, designed for
open discussion and opportunities for learning from each other, as well
as the case at hand.
T-Scan users will learn some tips for using the system
with patients, sensitivity setting, data reliability assessment, and
ways to use the system to learn the most about your patient. You will
also learn how to use the T-Scan III to guide occlusal
therapy
to create a balanced and precise occlusal pattern.
Class size will be limited to 8 participants. Usually, 2 sessions
are held.
8AM to 11 AM and 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Saturday
Clinical Demonstration - 3 hours CE credit
