Volunteers:
The shelter is in DESPERATE need of volunteers. You could help clean,
feed, walk animals. You could brush and love dogs and cats. You could
help with odd jobs (gardening, painting, general maintenance). You could
volunteer as little as 1 hour or as many as 8 hours a week. Do it for
yourself (you will feel VERY GOOD after being at the Shelter) and do it
for the animals.
Weekends are a great time for walking dogs, brushing cats/dogs, extra
cleaning and building repair. It's also the ideal time for
teenagers to volunteer--remember it looks good on college/scholarship
applications!!!!
Animal Supplies:
Puppy and Kitten Food: We often get donations of adult food, but
puppies and kittens need food specifically formulated for their growing
needs. Iams, Science Diet and Pedigree are good quality foods.
You would be surprised the amount of CAT LITTER we go through in
a week. We would prefer the "typical" clay litter, but
any is always used and appreciated.
Rawhide Chewies: For out bored and lonely dogs. It makes the time they
spend in kennels go so much faster. They love chewies.
Toys: For dogs and cats. Kittens love to snuggle with stuffed toys
and puppies love to play with them.
Cat Cages: The staff would like to add Shoreline (or good quality)
cages to the Shelter isolation area. Please ask the Executive Director
more about the sizes needed.
Household Supplies:
Paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, bleach,
pine-sol, scrub brushes, brooms, vacuum cleaner, paper plates, plastic
silverware, mop heads (industrial size), kleenex, window cleaner, toilet
brush, toilet cleaner, any disinfectant/deoderizing cleaning solution
can be used in our office/bathroom.
Monetary Donations!!!
At last estimate, it costs the Shelter an average of $125 to house each
animal for his/her stay and ultimate placement. Adoption fees are far
lower than that figure which means each animal taken in and placed is a
net loss. Your donations help cover that loss and give the animals
"a brighter life".
MEMBERS, MEMBERS, MEMBERS!!!!!!! Please
take the time to look at the membership
form and if you're not already a member, join us in saving a life.
